March of Robots 01: March!

Yay! March of Robots is here. The first prompt in the list is aptly “March”. This will probably be the only pic with a single prompt. The next one will post in a few days and should cover prompts 2-6.

This pic was the first thing I ever created in Manga/Clip Studio as I try to migrate to that from Photoshop. For what I do it seems a better medium but there is still a lack of familiarity with the features that I’m hoping these exercises will get me through. So far the biggest challenge is that Clip Studio handles transparency in brushes (or doesn’t) way different than Photoshop and much of the day spent finishing this picture was trying to figure out what worked and what didn’t. Overall I love the way Clip Studio uses brush/paint/ink but I need to find a nice way to layer shades.
