2 1/2 oz Kraken Spiced Black Rum
1/2 oz St. Germain Elderflower Liqueur
A dollop of Squid Ink
1/4 oz Mansith Absinthe for a wash
Add Rum, Liqueur and Squid Ink into a mixing glass with ice and stir until the ink is dispersed and the coloring is even. Strain into an Absinthe washed Martini Glass and garnish with some tentacle like strips of Lemon Peel.
This needs some work but it’s a good start. Kraken Spiced Black Rum and a we bit of Elderflower Liqueur in an Absinthe washed Martini glass, oh, yeah, a dash of Squid Ink from the blackest depths whence great Cthulhu slumbers.
Originally called the “R’lyeh Rum Martini” it’s not a purist Martini since it’s made with Rum instead of Gin and a liqueur instead of Vermouth, so, after much metal shadowboxing, I reverted the name from “Martini” to “Cocktail”. Whatever the name, it’s really freaking good. At some point I may actually change this completely to make a true Martini but garnish it with either Seaweed or perhaps even a few bits of Calamari.
