Just Updated The GFGF pancake Page!!!

Changed the description a bit to reflect the ingredients better, added instructions for making a Dairy Free Buttermilk, replaced the 2 Tbsps of Vegetable Oil with Melted Butter, included some vegan suggestions, and increased the cooking time a little because they always came out a but mushy.

International Blasphemy Day

If I'd have realized this sooner I may have taken the time to do something new, but for this year, here are some old bits of  Blasphemy...

The first was a contest/challenge on Normal Bob Smith's Website (http://www.normalbobsmith.com/hatemail336.html). A certain sender of hatemail asked him to stop making fun of Jesus but instead draw him in his true glory as he is portrayed in Revelations 19. I won a set of Jesus Dress-up Magnets.

The second was for the very first Draw Mohammed Day in support of free speech and freedom of artistic expression of those threatened with violence for drawing representations of the Islamic prophet Muhammad. Sadly, it's still relevant.

And, lastly, perhaps this is also a bit of Blasphemy, but I guess it would depend on who you asked...

Archived Posts

Well, it looks like I was able to use The Wayback Machine to recover my old posts from this site. It will take me a while to sift through the posts to figure out what is and isn't worth reposting here. One thing for certain was my desire to have my old vacation trip reports back online, especially before heading out on another trip again.

Since the next trip planned is New Orleans I figured I'd take the time to put that one back online first...

New Orleans Part 1

New Orleans Part 2

New Orleans Part 3

New Orleans Part 4

New Orleans Part 5

UPDATE: While I'm really happy I was able to salvage these posts I'm completely disheartened that it seems that all of the rest of my vacation posts are gone. I'll poke through the site snapshots a little more someday to try to get them. Damn.

Absinthe Cocktails for the Returning Old Ones! Updated 9Sep2015

Third Angel Cocktail
Eldritch Storm

Dunwich Fizz
Long Innsmouth Iced tea
Ever since the nearly synonymous discovery and obsession with Absinthe, I've been looking for creative ways to drink it. Here are four cocktails I've come up with that also fall into place with my obsession for The Mythos. I've put links on the side for these as well though if I start piling these up I may have to set up a separate page.

Cheers and let me know if you can figure out a way to make these better.

Hrmmm

Once in a while I still try to recover the old site database with all of my old postings and trip reports. Every time it's futile and the weekend it costs me trying to retrieve it is time I will never get back. I still have hope that I can get there but for now, I feel like I really should do something with this blog as it is. So, it will be, like my Tumblr and Instagram, probably a place for Food and Booze.

For now, I leave you with some self portraits I drew of myself over the years...

NEW Motherfucking Gluten Free Pancakes!

Don't really post much hear but maybe I'll try to in the future. For now you can suffer through my quest for some Good Fucking Gluten Free pancakes if you'd like.

So, I gave up on the Almond Flour and Banana shit. It tasted good, but always came out a little mushy and texture is just as important as taste to me. I tried Gluten Free Bisquick and it made a texturally good but fairly flavorless pancake. Tried making a simple flour mix with just some Superfine Rice Flour, Potato Starch, Baking Powder and Xanthan Gum and it tasted just like the tasteless Bisquick tho the texture was a bit nicer. I'm pretty sure the nice texture came from the Superfine Rice Flour from Thailand found at the Asian Market.

To add flavor I got some Buckwheat Flour and made a 1:1 blend with the Rice Flour. You can see the whole breakdown of the Good Fucking Gluten Free Pancake mix here. I'm really, really happy with how both the flavor and texture came out.

Shit, I just ate a bunch of these and I have plans for dinner to cook. Next time I make these I'll have a super-special Maple Syrup to use because life is too short for bad alcohol and fake maple syrup.
